What is Kleidon & Associates’ greatest strength?
We have a very creative team with a lot of experience, and this translates into a confidence with strategy. Our clients enjoy talking with us about their projects because they know we will deliver work that fits their business goals.

What social media platforms do you recommend for businesses?
Any retail or service business should have Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter. Facebook is where customers expect newest info + it builds relationship; Instagram lets you curate your brand image and personality. A good Twitter account should be clever, useful, and interesting.

What is your secret talent?
My mother was an art teacher and insisted on applying design principles to decorating a Christmas tree—depth, line, proportion, rhythm. As a kid, I totally hated that. But I do a great Christmas tree now.

What is a little-known fact about you?
I’ve crewed in sailing and rowing races, and won a speed skating medal in 3rd grade.

Three things you can’t live without
Being outdoors, poetry, friends & family.

Why should brands invest in good writing?
Clarity and persuasiveness do not come easy, especially in the hyped up mass culture we live in. Most clients come to us because they have a new message or the message they have isn’t getting through.

What’s the most overused word in advertisements?
There are so many. But I’ll pick “innovation.” This is today’s version of the old-school “new and improved.” These are lazy words that don’t respect the audience and are frequently used to delude.
