Welcome Katy Bernhard, Public Relations Assistant

Kleidon & Associates welcomes Katy Bernhard to the role of the marketing and public relations intern. Ever since taking a journalism course and writing for her High School’s newspaper magazine, she’s developed a passion for writing. While here, she hopes to gain a greater sense of professionalism within the field, along with learning newer aspects of marketing, including social media content to honing in on and perfecting her professional writing skills.

What brought you to Kleidon & Associates?
I was drawn to the fact that it is a full service marketing and advertising agency, specializing in everything from design to content creation. Additionally, I felt as though this would give me the perfect chance to receive a hands-on approach at working with a wide array of clients.

What do you love about writing?
The way in which one can turn dull content into a compelling piece that is unique in its own way, while grabbing the attention of the reader.

What social media platforms top your list right now?
Facebook and Instagram are my favorites, as I can’t go a day without checking either of them. In particular, I’ve always been intrigued by Facebook’s technique of ad targeting, which specifically target users based on certain demographics.

What brand does it right and why?
In my opinion, Starbucks. Maybe I am just biased because I love their product, but the fact that they keep popping new stores up at every corner and have gained numerous target markets must mean that they’re doing something right.

What’s a little-known fact about you?
I currently do lifestyle modeling, as a side occupation. I work with an agency near Columbus and first started after a stint in college working with a former Project Runway Designer and Joann Fabrics.

When you were a kid, what did you think you would do when you grew up?
When I was really young, I always wanted to be a doctor or an Olympic gymnast.

Three things you can’t live without?
I couldn’t go a day without my cellphone by my side, talking to my family and, of course, living without my rescued cat, Leo.

What’s the most important thing you have learned in college so far?
Learning to get along and appreciating different types of people probably tops my list. Growing up, I was never exposed to different cultures. Therefore, it really gave me the chance to pull out of my comfort zone and meet new people, whether they were co-workers, classmates or fellow fraternity members.

What brand or organizations would be your dream client- and why?
I’ll go with PETA, as I believe strongly in animal rights. I would love to get the chance to educate others on the effects of animal abuse in the food, clothing and entertainment industries.

What are three things you want to learn/learn more about during your internship?
Eventually, I want to have the opportunity to interact with clients, while learning about SEO, social media presence and email marketing.
